During the summer months (April – October), expect small to medium waves, especially on the beaches and reefs along the exposed northwest coast. It’s a great time for those looking to have fun surfing in warm waters without the crowds. For those seeking more challenging waves, there still are some larger days during this time. In the winter months, the waves, that have made Morocco famous, come to life. This region of Morocco offers a wide variety of waves, unlike many places in the world. From ideal beginner waves to challenging reef breaks, there’s something for everyone. Advanced surfers and beginners alike should not be deterred or worried. Due to the nature of the coast, there’s almost always a sheltered and manageable area, and those seeking a challenge won’t be disappointed. Morocco is blessed with over 300 days of sunshine per year. From November to February, there’s a slight chance of rain, although statistically unlikely. Choosing a wetsuit depends on personal preference and tolerance, with a 3/2 mm wetsuit being the best all-rounder.
